Professional Therapy During Bereavement
Tuesday, April 21    7:00 - 8:30 p.m.  Mount Olivet Cemetery
Many people wonder whether working with an individual therapist can assist with adjustments to grief and loss. This program will address factors that contribute to a person's decision to engage in individual counseling following a loss, what to expect during a session, growth opportunities available through such a process and how to identify when individual therapy might also be able to assist you in working through life changes.  Presenter James Rusk, LCSW, is the Executive Director of CMH Counseling in the city of Buffalo.

Finding Your New Normal: Living Day by Day
Tuesday, June 16     7:00 - 8:30 p.m.    Mount Olivet Cemetery
As the grief journey persists, we are often times challenged by returning to the norm that doesn't feel so normal any more.  How is it possible to live a new version of a life you miss so deeply, without the significance of your loved one's presence? We will discuss a variety of coping strategies that can support your process in finding the new normal, as well as deal with the emotional suffering that sometimes traps us. Presenter Michelle Marabella, LMHC, is a grief therapist in private practice and worked at Hospice Buffalo for over 18 years.

Grief support groups are offered the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month at St. Aloysius Gonzaga in Cheektowaga at 4 p.m.  and the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore at 7:00 p.m.  For more information, please call Nancy Weil, Director of Grief Support, at 716-873-6500.
