Disruptions in sleep are common when grieving the loss of a loved one. We will discuss simple methods to cope with sleeplessness during grief and relaxation techniques to allow your body the time it needs to heal physically, emotionally and mentally. Start with Sleep is a resource for both behavioral and medical sleep challenges. 

Handling the Holidays
The holiday season is not always greeted with happy anticipation. Grief may make it difficult to carry on as usual. Explore ways that you can find your way through the season.

John M. Kalinowski is a Chaplain and VP of Mission integration for Catholic Health Services at Mercy Hospital. 

Grief support groups are offered the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month at St. Aloysius Gonzaga in Cheektowaga at 4 p.m.  and the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kenmore at 7:00 p.m.
